Editorial food photography used to describe photography used for an editorial purpose. However, now it is often used to describe the use of available light in a setting. Images for magazines, cookbooks, websites and restaurants love to use editorial food photography. We create this type of photography in our recipe photography as well as our packaging work. Since most of the time we can’t always rely on the sun to light our images. Therefore, our lighting has to mimic this effect for our clients. Almost all of our clients have requested the look of natural light for their images at some point. Since that is often the case, recreating sunlight has become something we’ve often done in the studio.
In addition to the lighting, creating a scene with surfaces and props that work well together helps pull the images together. Our studio offers a number of props and surfaces to create a variety of looks. Since we do such a large scale of food photography we do, there is just about a prop for every need.
